Extreme Kindergarten Room Makeover!!

Here are some before and after pictures of my new Kindergarten classroom.  It is still a work in progress since I am adding to it daily, but I am proud of it so far.

This is what I walked into after my summer break!  I had A LOT of work to do!!

I found these little picnic tables at a local thrift store for only $15.00 each.  I knew they would be a PERFECT addition to my owl theme as well as my reading center.

I found these AWESOME tables at another local thrift store.  I was having a hard time arranging my rectangle tables to my satisfaction, so when I saw these I grabbed them up!  They were originally $19.99 each, but the owner gave them to me for $6.00 each!!!  SCORE!  I primed them (pictured here) and then painted them a pretty aqua blue!

The tables turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! :)  Not too shabby for $24.00 total!!

These Line up dots will be in my Teachers Pay Teachers and Teachers' Notebook stores soon.  Each student has a number to line up on everytime their table is called to line up.  This eleminates the confusion, pushing and shoving to be first, and of course, "cutting".  The blue dot in the front is labeled "line leader". I simply placed them on the floor in the proper order and covered them with a square of contact paper.

My apologies for the "blurriness" of this picture, but I did want to share the entryway to my classroom.

"Look Whoo's In Kindergarten"
This cutie patutie owl is made completely out of butcher paper.  The pieces were just drawn free handed and then pieced together.  The branches were also made from butcher paper.
And THIS is my favorite area of my new room!! Thanks to my sweet husband, I have an actual TREE in my room.  But wait!! This is not just any tree! Notice the notch cut out of the trunk.  It is a "Reading Tree".  Only one student can sit inside at a time, but it is a fun little nook to read in.  Seriously, who wouldn't want to read from inside a tree??

Now, let the FUN begin, because, ready or not, here come the "littles"!! :)
